How Good Is 'Good Enough'?

"Christianity is pretty much the same as all other world religions, right?"

Many people in our society believe that in order for God to be satisfied with them, they have to out-weigh their bad deeds with good deeds.  In fact, most world religions teach this concept, but Christianity is NOT one of them.

There is a huge difference between Christianity and other religions; they are not the same. The Bible teaches something that no other world religion teaches. It says that we can't be good enough because if sin is committed, even only once, we are made filthy in God's sight.  Christianity teaches that forgiveness of sins can be obtained by believing that Jesus paid the price to wash away all our wrong-doings. Good deeds are not what make you right with God.  Morality is not a means to an end, but rather a by-product of those who have a relationship with God.

I have no power to condemn or judge those who believe differently than me, but the Bible does teach that Jesus is the only way to God and those who reject this message will get what we all deserve for sinning; separation from God for eternity.

*(Isaiah 64:6) "All our righteous acts are like filthy rags"

*(2 Corinthians 5:21) "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Test Your Faith: Am I A Christian?

There are many who claim to be Christian, but have no desire to know God or see lives changed by Christ.  They fail to exhibit any objective evidence that they are truly Christians.  I'm guilty...That used to be me!

Here's a short clip of a sermon from The Village Church where Matt Chandler elevates progress over perfection.  As Christians, we don't have to have be perfect and 'have it all together.'  We do have to be honest where we're at in life, for our OWN good, because it might impact where we will spend eternity.  Some people attend church EVERY Sunday and are just as far from God as those who reject Christ.
